All About The Build-A-Bear Animal Crossing Collab - Isabelle, Tom Nook, & K.K. Slider

Build-A-Bear recently released an official collab with Animal Crossing: New Horizons--Nintendo's second best selling Switch game. Build-A-Bear must have heard the news and jumped at the opportunity of sweeping up some of that multi-million dollar revenue.

Now, I know what you're thinking: 

So, we finally got a Stitches plush!!!

We got Stitches right?!!!!

Well, no. At least, not yet. Build-A-Bear's first release to the ACNH line welcomes the well known Isabelle & Tom Nook--common NPC's from the popular series. 

Fans were forced in a randomized and might I add, blind online shopping que to purchase the toy but when they finally got to the top of the virtual line they only found Isabelle and Tom Nook available with no other villager options. Prior to this event, Build-A-Bear did not announce what ACNH villagers would be available therefor a lot of fans were hopeful that they would have the chance to purchase their favorite villager--it was Lily & Bob for me. Leaving thousands of disappointed fans world-wide but that didn't stop the collection from selling out in under an hour at the first drop release of the ACNH collaboration.

Second wave

Shortly after the couple first release drops, Build-A-Bear announces Tom Nook & Isabelle 'Winter' outfits: but there is a catch! If you want these outfits you will have to buy additional plushies as you cannot purchase these outfits independently at this time. Furthermore, the original Isabelle & Tom Nook 'Summer' outfits are sewn into their neck. So unless you decide to cut the strings attaching the clothing to the plushies--at your own risk of damaging the clothing or doll; you will not be able to change them into other clothing from the store or even the ACNH sleeper pajamas. 

But doesn't that defeat Build-A-Bear's whole narrative?! Moving on.. 

My first thoughts once I had these plushies in hand

After receiving my Tom Nook & Isabelle plush's from the mail I was pleasantly happy with the quality. I haven't owned a Build-A-Bear toy in many years but if their is one thing you can count on from Build-A-Bear it is that you will get a soft lovable bear (or raccoon in this case) that you will want to snuggle up on the sofa with. The plushies are made from a high-quality polyester fiber and are actually really cute regardless of unpopular opinion. But what sold me was the sounds & music that you can choose (or decide not to choose if you happened to wish.) I choose the ACNH opening theme song for Tom Nook as this song spreads much happiness to my soul and reminds me that I made it through quarantine 2020. For Isabelle I choose the 5-1 sound phrases and they do not disappoint.

So, what about K.K. Slider?

K.K. Sldier, was dropped suddenly on June 10th 2021 for purchase. To my belief he did not sell out and is still available on the online store at this time. He comes with his guitar which is detachable and you can purchase him with the famous K.K. Disco song. Finally a use for the ACNH sleeper. Additionally, Build-A-Bear also released some cute ACNH accessories such as a Bell bag & present wristie. 

Build-A-Bear has announced to it's fans that they plan to bring the collection in store "later this Summer." The fan base is still holding hope for other villagers and NPC's like Celeste to come to the collection. Hopefully time will be our friend.
